COUNSELING SPECIALTIES
“Healing means releasing yourself from the version of you that you created for survival.”

You feel alone in your emotions. Things that use to not trigger you now make you unable to live your life to the fullest or as freely as you previously could. You notice your anxiety, depression, and/or fear keeps escalating, and you struggle to feel like you can breathe at times.
If this is you, these feelings may be due to historical trauma whether that be during childhood, adulthood or both. Trauma can impact us all, but this does not mean accepting or tolerating a lifetime of discomfort or fear. I use Accelerate Resolution Therapy (ART) to help your body and mind heal simultaneously. I love using this modality to help clients work through and process traumas, as it ultimately helps them feel they have returned to a new, healthier normal where they can manage and process feelings with a renewed sense of self and purpose.
ART works differently than just “talking about it”. Though talking about trauma can be beneficial in that it allows for a higher level of comfort and dialogue about what happened, that is a more cognitive strategy, which does not allow for a true connection to where the trauma resides in the brain. ART and the other tools I utilize help you connect on a more genuine, less cognitive level with your trauma and in the process with how it impacts your emotions and sensations in your body

Difficulty adjusting and coping.
Feeling anxious or on-edge.
Self-destructive tendencies.
Authenticity is part of what makes therapy work, and thus I try to incorporate my own transparency and authenticity in the therapy room, and encourage my clients to do the same. It can be stressful to expose vulnerabilities to a stranger and because of that, I have deep respect for and a passion to work with clients who are courageous and want to begin the process of healing their trauma, whether that be recent, remote or both. For individuals, I am trained in ART, use inner child, psychodrama components, and parts work to help clients work through trauma. And with couples I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT). Both these modalities allow couples to not just learn tools for communication but to also learn the why and ways to connect with those attachment needs in order to have a more meaningful connection with your loved one.
